This YA paranormal gothic series is set in the South and is one of the more challenging, complex series I’ve come across in recent memory (I devoured the first two books early last year and then grabbed up the third last November). Every book drips with atmosphere, magic, and mystery.
After a stunning cliffhanger in Beautiful Chaos – which fit perfectly with the story, but was a bold move on the part of the authors – I was left wondering how in the world Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl would write their way out of what occurred. Will Ethan find his way back to Lena? What deals will Lena make to get him back? To what lengths will Amma go? Can there be a happy ending for Ethan and Lena? Will the curse be broken? So many questions and the answers are almost here; I can hardly wait!
