One of the hottest books releasing in November is Laini Taylor’s Days of Blood & Starlight, the sequel to Daughter of Smoke & Bone. First, I’ve included the trailer for book one above, so you can get a quick taste of the series (I’m sharing the U.K. trailer instead of the U.S. one since it is a bit more descriptive). Secondly, I absolutely love the covers of both books; as you can see, they are simply stunning together.
I’m very much looking forward to this release and have it on pre-order, but I haven’t managed to finish Daughter of Smoke & Bone yet. I have the book and I want to read it, but I just haven’t had the opportunity to settle into Karou’s dual worlds of modern-day Prague and the realm of monsters that sits alongside it. From the little peek I took at the first chapter this looks like a series that will demand my attention, so I’ve been waiting for a time when I’m a little ahead with everything I need to do so I can settle in and focus on the story. With Days of Blood & Starlight releasing in just over a week, however, it looks like I need to buckle down, haul book one out of my bookcase and get to reading!
